A Vibrant Celebration: 2025 Lunar New Year at Mary Queen of Vietnam Church

The Mary Queen of Vietnam Church (14011 Dwyer Blvd., New Orleans, LA) hosted its annual Lunar New Year festival in honor of the 2025 Year of the Snake. Over the course of 2.5 days, thousands of attendees joined the congregation to relish in traditional Vietnamese food, dragon dances, interactive activities, live mainstream and cultural performances, and firework displays. Guests of all ages and diverse cultures were seen sporting the traditional Vietnamese attire, called an รo dร i, pronounced, โow yaiโ or โow zaiโ, depending on what part of Vietnam your family grew up in. And the weather could not have been more perfect. No one could tell that a whopping blizzard had shut down the entire city for a week just before the festival.
WWG were honored guests at the ribbon-cutting ceremony and opening celebrations. We met with local members and key leaders, continuing our long-standing support of the Mary Queen of Vietnam Church as a benevolent community group. It has been 40 years, and the festival has attracted more than 30,000 visitors. We are proud to be a part of this community.
